Wylie Vasquez Cable was born in southern California where the summers are warmer and the winters aren't much colder.  Wylie began playing music in elementary school learning to read music in the percussion section of the Franklin Avenue School Orchestra.  While hiking in the foothills of the Angeles Crest mountains with his father, Arthur Cable, Wylie decided to start playing the bass and shortly there after helped to create the band Freeblind (RIP).  After gigging across Los Angeles in high school and picking up the standup bass in the Crescenta Valley symphonic orchestra, Wylie attended the California Institute of the Arts as a contrabass major, later shifting his studies to include guitar, piano, classical north indian music, gamelan, traditional Ghanain drumming, composition, and even a little bit of coding (Chuck =>).  During his time at Cal Arts Wylie founded the band Grapes & Nuts with his colleague and flatmate Will Kreppel, an ever shifting lineup of musicians from all different parts of the world who continue to create, perform and record original music co-written by members of the group.  Other groups that Wylie Cable performs with include but are not limited to:  The Dog of Tears Orchestra, The Deathmedicine Band, Einstein's Vacation on Turtle Island, Insects vs Robots, The Arthur Cable Blues Band.
